Turn your passion for hockey into a part time job that will last a
lifetime.
The St. Catharines Ice Hockey Officials Association is actively
recruiting new and experienced Minor Hockey Officials for the 2021-22
season. Officiating with the SCIHOA offers a unique opportunity to gain
exposure to OMHA, Alliance, OWHA and Secondary School hockey at levels ranging
from House League to AAA. As the largest centre in the Niagara Region,
SCIHOA referees officiate more than 3000 games every year with multiple tournaments,
leagues and playdown opportunities.
There is a need for experienced officials at all levels as well as
NEW
officials.
To start officiating with Hockey Canada a new candidate must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 14 years of age by December 31, 2021
- Have some hockey experience as a player or team official
- Have good skating ability and a desire to learn.
The SCIHOA offers a support network of experienced officials to guide and mentor new referees of all ages as well as on and off ice training and development.
